Seth's Disintegration Collaboration

Seth set up a great project: Disintegration Collaboration. Today is the day we show on all our blogs the status of what we set outside to disintegrate. Unfortunately, mine is still waiting to rot away, thanks to gentle Texas winters. I'm thinking that this summer the heat will make it burst into flames. Post pending for that event.

The piece inside the sculpture is a diploma I received for years of sacrified weekends of study during my 32 year career where I wore a suit and a tie. It added a few more initials after my name (So what? Am I'm supposed to print my name and all the initials after it on a ruler and hand that out instead of a business card?) but didn't make me any happier.

The secondary part of my disintegration efforts was more successful. This partially dried possum skeleton was right by the sculpture shown above and I was hoping he would dry up some more. Be careful what you wish for because he disintegrated into thin air. People think I'm weird because I set aside a dead possum. No, weird is someone who steals a dead possum.

Note: Check tomorrow for a post about an artist creating fascinating art titled "Disintegration."

  1. Maybe you need to strangle that diploma with your tie and bury it. Pity we will never know who snuck the possum away.

  6. You do have a twisted sense of humor but the person who stole your beloved possom is a very curious individual. Life is always interesting and disintegration took on an organic process in your mark making expression. Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
